Coupled with the use of Biblical principles, stages of development in children, this book teaches, educates and gives parents the arsenal they need to educate themselves and their families in either prevention or healing from traumatic child sexual abuse (CSA).

Giving the definitions of child sexual abuse (CSA) and the staggering statistics in our nation, coupled with the abuse worldwide – the abuse of children is unprecedented. Our day and age is raging with this sin against the most innocent of beings – children. Abuse comes in many forms and can be quite insidious, thus the author’s efforts focus on sexual abuse. She also gives insight into the psychiatric dynamics of a sexual predator or offender. Her book is well-rounded and an overview on the subject of CSA that gives knowledge, help and guidance as a manual for prevention and protection against such crimes.

As a comprehensive handbook, one can glean the contents and find out not only how to use her guide, but understand how to limit internet media and device pornography, recognize strategies of perpetrators, giving tips of what to do and what not to do – parents, caregivers and helpers can help recognize, prevent and protect children against childhood sexual abuse. This guide is an invaluable resource, offering also an overview of the main reasons for abuse (the psychology of abusers) to help readers spot unsafe behaviors, giving them a guidebook in tracking and preventing child sexual abuse.

With a section on educating your child on this subject, this book takes all the pieces of a giant puzzle, and even sheds light on the judicial system in relation to this issue. With different stages of age, such as birth to toddler, toddler to five, six to twelve, and twelve to eighteen, the author has broken down the different stages of growth, exposing the different levels of opportunity that sexual predators may use against a child at these ages, along with age appropriate environments and care providers.

Simply put, this book is a blessing! Encapsulated within the 10 short chapters, the author presents a “pathway to the promises” that will renovate readers’ thinking (and doing). He states that so many have given up, settled for “complacency and mediocrity”. His book offers new hope and a new life to the promises of God with such valuable chapters as: Learn to Overcome, Value the Valley, Develop a Breakthrough Attitude, Build Momentum, Learn to Engage, Learn to Move in Power, Be a Person of Faith, Be a Person of Prayer, Be a Person of the Spirit, & Be a Person of Sacrifice. Readers will find this book to be a catalyst to lift them out of their struggles, enemy attacks, and disappointment that also ushers in fresh vision, focus, encouragement and hope that lead to mission and ministry coming into fruition.

I cannot recommend this book enough! Aspects of prayer, faith, and holiness shed light on a surprising read that includes such powerful lessons, insights and treasures from the Bible. He teaches from experience and assists readers to help them grab onto God, gain momentum in God’s ways and His promises. Hope and faith come alive. Such Biblical heroes bring great hope and faith, such as: David, Apostle Paul, the Disciples, all springing forth from the ministry of Jesus.  

Throughout his book, the author has given the roadmap to “failure is not an option.” And within such, revealing the nature of Satan and his temptations, as a mere twisting of the truth…bringing in deception. He makes an eye-opening statement in the later chapter, “Every temptation is Satan’s invitation to do things your own way instead of God’s way.” This is an incredible statement for those who would be willing to apply understanding. Within that, he offers snapshots and a chapter in the book revealing the enemy’s tactics as the “Tempter” and “Accuser of the Brethren” that showcase classic strategies of Satan, unveiling examples of compromise that are written in the Bible, so that readers can glean from these important lessons. Highlighting holiness, hope and faith are crucial elements that promote walking by the Spirit, make this a valuable and informative without complicating the matter.

This author offers truth from a Biblical perspective to propel readers into their God-given mission. 

This is an incredibly timely and well-written book that shares such valuable teachings and comes highly recommended for all Christians, whether a new or mature believer. Thank you Pastor Brunetto for sharing this insight and offering a Pathway to Promise!

Author Gail Baker pens a delightful and life-enriching memoir. Filled with memorable familial insights and battles, Gail Baker relates her common Jewish family, bridging the gap between tradition and faith as a Jewish woman. 

Gail Baker grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. Blending a tenacious personality, humor, and candor, her intelligence and analytical abilities shine throughout the book. A timeline of poignant moments from childhood to adulthood defined and shaped her family, her life and some of her outcomes. Lovingly speaking of her family roots and history, her story unfolds as a young girl coming of age. Insights and highlights shed light into the beliefs of her Jewish family, the era they lived in and Jewish resolve and unity from her family’s effortless support of humanitarian efforts, to include the establishment of Israel as a nation in 1967.

I found myself not able to put down her memoir. As I read of the turbulent 60’s during her days in college, she reflects back on her upbringing that relates dysfunction on many levels. Despite, Judaism (which played a nominal role in Gail’s young life), she describes a young girl cloistered by the knowledge of anti-semitism and shallow Christianity. This led to a voracious pursuit of philosophical and theological dictum that bring about understanding of the ideals she has come to know. She shares these perspectives, quotes, scripture verses and insight that gives her book texture and depth. She relates a deep spiritual journey that led to a splendid concession of simply coming to the only One that could bring peace to her soul, Jesus Christ. 

With such harmony, she summarizes misconceptions, anxiety, fear, faith and the issues with raising a child that came into difficulty. She also fervently describes her loving pursuit in helping her son, in which her mother’s heart is revealed in such a tender way.

What readers will find is that woven within the tapestry of her book springs forth a deep spiritual conviction to find Truth. This book will move readers deep within their soul, build faith and inspire admiration for God’s chosen people. Her sculpted memoir relates grace and intensity simultaneously. Her story culminates in a wonderful and beautiful love story from a “not-so Kosher Jewish girl that fell in love with Jesus.”

This is an incredibly touching memoir that all will not want to miss!

God Is The Only One That Can Meet Us In Our Darkest Hours

In God, I'm Angry At You, the author has written a much-needed book that should be recognized not only by the Christian community, but by the secular community.  His purpose in writing the book is to address the silent epidemic and the alarming deterioration of family units and individuals. 

Teaching Biblical principles that intertwine with Joseph’s story to help readers understand their past in order to move forward in their present.  This book also has the potential to bring much healing of the mind, soul and spirit with a look at Joseph who is much like us today.

The story of Joseph is one of family dysfunction and victory (in the end of course); but not before unimaginable trauma, separation, betrayal, loss and heartache took place.  Readers will embark on a journey through progressive chapters such as: Home, Your Launchpad for Self-Destruction, Caution! You Have Hidden Baggage, Is Your Past Your Present? Are You Programmed to Self-Destruct? God, I am Hurting! Where Are You God? What is God’s Responsibility in Human Suffering? Will You Be Made Whole? (John 5:6) & Your Divine Encounter with God. The author goes to great lengths to teach a practical way of healing embedded within the pages of Joseph’s story and the Bible.  The author states that we (as humans) can only submit ourselves into the Potter’s hands as clay (something to keep in mind).

His book reveals a flurry of wrong choices beginning from Rebekah (Jacob’s mother) to a wide range of emotions, mindsets and self-destructive thoughts and ways that keep us from God.  Encouraging all to look up to God, the author speaks from a psychological standpoint as one who was well-acquainted with failure and certainly understands feelings of hopelessness, despair, and not measuring up. Yet, he adamantly states God is the only One who can meet us in our darkest nights and pit experiences to see us through. God’s compassion, love, and instruction is revealed through the life of Joseph, similarly we can expect the same.  Insight into the human psyche gives us a front-row seat and the author challenges readers to thought-provoking issues that will bring enlightenment, healing and the grace of God upon one’s life.  

God, I’m Angry at You! Where were you God when I was Hurting? further sheds light in the statement and thought of, where were you God when I needed you the most?  His book provides answers to human suffering and offers hope through that pervasive question prevalent in the story of Joseph and in our own lives.

This book comes highly recommended due to the author’s vast experience with trauma victims, his trauma counsel experience, as well as a being a pastor and minister for many years, including work in the social services serving children and families.

Modern Version Incursion describes the assaulting of biblical accuracy, doctrinal purity, finality, total truth, and spiritual stability in the overwhelming choices of modern versions of the Bible. Dr. Ken Matto highlights also that 747 verses have been assailed in some way; therefore, that is 747 reasons to not trust the prolific amount of modern versions of the Bible. Suggesting that the King James Bible (1611 version) is the only true non-counterfeit version of the Bible; he thus states his case. The author’s mission is two-fold: to reveal the corrupt nature of modern versions of the Bible and to dispel confusion that has caused many Christians to misunderstand the true meaning of God’s Word.

This is a Bible study giving Old and New Testament verses, revealing changes that have been made. The author articulates his point clearly and concisely, giving also a historical bird’s eye view of the Bible’s history as well. For those that would endeavor to search for the truth, this book will add to their knowledge bringing convincing evidence to not trust modern versions of the Bible. Old and New Testament comparisons provide ample discovery of the corruption contained in modern versions.

This is a somewhat intense, yet interesting study. The author states that his purpose is to educate and exhort other Christians to learn the truth about their version of the Bible and get back to the one that is not corrupted: the King James Version.

He additionally states that he has seen more power in his ministry in doing so. He encourages all Christians to consider whether they are reading truth or a corrupted Bible version and has given enough evidence to readers so they can make their own decision.

This book took such a large amount of research and knowledge to put together; the enormity of the task that the author has accomplished will be much appreciated.

A must-read for all Christians in choosing their Bible versions.
